View of receding Comet Hale-Bopp with the setting crescent Moon, May 8, 1997.

“Oh, praise be!”
The words welled up inside me; I looked around wondering where the hell it came from.
I scanned the crowd, and everyone was walking straight.
I looked back and they were all facing forward.
But I walked in a wiggly line!
I jumped up and down flapping my wings.
Laughed hysterically.
Sobbed atrociously.
Roughed my knees pounding the concrete.
I threw the cape on, made fists of my hands, and jumped like a vampire due upwards.
I thought hard and passed puffy clouds, entered the deep darkness.
I concentrated and splashed against a star, bursting myself into a million pieces.
Little bits crashed down on the earth like a comet.
I’m Superwoman in an egg.
I fertilize the soil.
I arrive baby-faced and bewildered in the cornfield.
