Do you feel her?
Tongue out
Foot firmly pressed

The communication between us has shriveled to a point
I’ll meet you on Zoom they say
And we close our laptops and sigh

Yet the double-edged sword of a rampant virus boxes us
A stalemate between connection and protection

They are begging us and bloating us with (mis)information
And it rages on and on
Loved ones being carted out in black bags
Bewildered eyes at funerals
I’m so sorry they say
For your loss
While they walk away from the hole in the ground shaking their heads
A needle prick
Was all
They
Needed

She wields her Kharag
And holds the head
Of our inflated egos

Who can blame her?
We will be burned to the ground
We didn’t listen
Keep your portal open and allow her to slay you
Your barred doors are laughable
