'One Day' is up on the Blackbird Film Festival website!
Exciting to see 'One Day' among all the other short films in the 'No Boys Allowed' film block. Check it out HERE.
'One Day' will screen on Friday, April 12th at 2 pm EST on the SUNY Cortland, NY campus in the Brown Auditorium. Huzzah!
I have been shifting my gears over to press and reaching out to publications in the Cortland, Ithaca, Binghamton, and Syracuse areas to try and get coverage of the film. A producer's work is never done. I've been working hard on the electronic press kit and press release and they are ready to go.
I'm also thanking my supporters, some of whom will receive personal thank-you videos from me! It takes a community to make art, and keeping people who value my artistry close and feeling acknowledged is important.
Also, I'm working on practicing potential answers about the film - either live at Q & A's or written. It is an art to be able to describe your project succinctly and be time efficient, getting your points across.
It's overwhelming with all the hats I must play as an indie creative. Some days it feels like too much, and other days I'm better at taking it one step at a time. I try to remember to celebrate my wins when they happen. It's too easy to keep rolling and not acknowledge the hard work I've been doing.
More than anything, self-producing has taught me just how important the producing skill set is. Without organizational, linear, disciplined steadiness, creative projects can flounder and fail. I essentially split my head in two regularly. Trying to remain in my source of flow - creating space in my brain for inspiration, noticing, and play. The other part of me is remembering to update my spreadsheets, follow up on emails, research, and outreach.
Thank you as always for being here, and reading.
Stay gold,
Kimberly
